My New Macbook

Can I just say that I heart Apple Products!!! I am writing this post from my new mac book and what's even better is that I did not drop the $999.00 to buy it.

The school that I work for received a grant from the state of PA to begin a program called "Classrooms of the Future" part of that program requires the school to pick certain teachers in content areas ( math, science, social studies, English) to incorporate technology in the classroom.

Those teachers were given a Promethean board (white board), a set of 32 mac books for classroom use, and a mac book for their use. In return they have to go through hours of special training and professional development and really change their whole style of teaching to prepare their students for the future.

I was the only English teacher chosen for the program... and that's how I got the mac book.

Now I don't know if I can keep it for the summer but I am definitely enjoying it right now. Either way its a beautiful change from my 4 year old dell that is upstairs in my office.

I am still drooling over the new silver mac and may have to end up buying it for the summer. I applied to a very prestigious Master program that begins over the summer and will need a reliable laptop with a chargeable battery. If I get in... that will be my gift too myself!

In other news:

Its the fourth of the month and I have not spent any money!!! Go Me!!

Until next time, think prosperous thoughts

I really enjoy Apple products, but not for the business world. I need a PC to function at work, so the Macbook is just for fun..

I am getting a Mac as soon as I have enough money saved up for one. Enjoy yours and I'm sure you will get into your grad program, you seem to be on top of things.

Mac's are great. I bought myself one in December after my other PC crashed!
I haven't spent a dime since Jan. 31! I'm sooo happy but it's short lived. I have to spend money on Saturday!
